Signing Up & Publishing a Registry

Honeyfund is totally free!

Honeyfund is the first honeymoon registry to offer no-fee credit card payment processing! The new Honeyfund Balance allows you to take guest payments into your Honeyfund account and redeem the funds as you wish through our network of gift card providers. And there's NEVER a fee to guests, either!

With Honeyfund, you receive monetary gifts from your guests to help you pay for the costs of honeymoon travel and more!

Here's how it works:

  • You book and pay for your travel with a great deal from one of our travel partners or with your own travel provider.
  • You receive the money from your guests one of three ways:

1. The first and most popular is the new Honeyfund Balance! Receive gifts with zero fees, then redeem the balance for one or many gift cards from our partners. Guests pay online with a credit card, and you decide how much and which gift cards to choose. There are zero fees to you or your guests!

2. Accept credit card payments from your guests that come to you as cash. Guests choose a gift(s) from your list and pay online with a credit card. The money goes into your own account with the card processor you choose, and then sent via direct deposit to your bank. Credit card payments are powered by either WePay or PayPal (2.8%+.30* (US) per transaction). There are never any fees to your gift givers!

3. Finally, receive cash or check from your guests, offline. Your guests will reserve gift items, print a gift certificate and literally give you cash or check either by mail or in person.

Rest assured that all personal info and gift money is safe and secure. Collect your offline gifts directly from your gift givers or collect online gifts via your own PayPal (or WePay) account or your Honeyfund Balance. Honeyfund's secure servers keep your private info safe, and personal info is never sold, rented or shared.

Honeyfund has also been awarded an A+ grade by Better Business Bureau's Online Reliability program.

Honeyfund is available to residents of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K., the U.S. and most of Europe. If you live outside these countries and would like to use Honeyfund, please contact us.

Yes! Please create a free account and then you can try the Give a Gift process from your published registry page. You can walk through step-by-step what your guests will experience when they purchase a Honeyfund gift.

Note: If you've linked a PayPal account, be sure to use a credit card and e-mail address not associated with your linked PayPal account. PayPal does not allow you to pay yourself.

We make it easy to "publish" your registry at sign up so it shows up in the Gift Giver search. However you may have chosen to protect your registry and not publish immediately. When your registry is ready, head on over to the Share page to begin sharing your page by providing a URL/Hashtag. Click the Share link to edit and save your Honeyfund URL/Hashtag.

Your Honeyfund registry will remain active for one year after your wedding date. We do this because many couples continue to receive gifts even after their wedding and honeymoon. If you'd like to unpublish your registry to remove it from public access, please contact us.

We can also exclude your page from search engine crawling, just contact us.

Your Honeyfund account will be disabled if your e-mail address is invalid or if it was not confirmed within eight weeks of opening the account. Accounts also close automatically one year after your wedding date.

Receiving Gifts & Payments

Honeyfund offers ultimate flexibility for you and your guests. Collect gifts with Honeyfund Balance, WePay or PayPal.

Here's how it works:

  • Guests pay quickly and easily. They are never charged a fee. Choose from the Honeyfund Balance, where you can withdraw some or all of your balance at any time via digital gift cards (NO FEES) or get cash with WePay or PayPal (just 2.8% + $0.30 for online gifts*, offline payments are always free!)
  • A few easy steps enable WePay or PayPal.
  • When you choose WePay or PayPal, it's easy and free to withdraw cash into your own bank account!

Setup your Payment Settings now. When you choose the cash option via WePay or PayPal, remember to accept both offline and online payments, where average fees are just 1.8% for the typical Honeyfund account! Guests never pay a fee.

You can now put gift cards from popular travel, dining and retail brands right on your Honeyfund registry! Any and all gift cards you receive incur 0% transaction fees to you and your guests.

To retrieve your online gift payments, please login to your Honeyfund and note how the gift was received. If you opted to use PayPal or WePay please login to your PayPal (or WePay) account and click the Withdraw tab. There you will find several options for withdrawing your money. If you forgot your login e-mail address, you can find it in your Honeyfund Payment Settings

Do you have a Honeyfund Balance? Click the ""redeem"" button under your balance to collect the gifts with major partner brands.

If your gifts were pledged via cash or check, you should have received the payments directly from your gift givers (e.g. in the mail to the address you provided in your Honeyfund account, or at the shower, wedding or otherwise in person).

In addition to Honeyfund's free offline payment options, we make it possible to receive online payments for a fee of 2.8% + $0.30. Here are the complete fee details:

  • Payments paid to a WePay account incur one simple fee of 2.8% + $0.30.
  • PayPal: Most US-to-US transactions incur a rate of 2.8% + $0.30. Fees outside the US may vary. Click here for full fee info. Payments from outside your home country may incur an additional 1% cross-border fee.

Some gifts do not show up on your Gifts Received page immediately. There may be up to a two hour delay to allow the giver time to make changes before the gift pledge is revealed to you in your account. Note: This applies to offline payments only. Payments to your WePay or PayPal account should show up immediately.

With Honeyfund, guests select a gift, and then pay according to payment methods you choose. If a guest chooses to pay offline, you'll see it in the ""Pledges"" section on the Gifts Received page. When you get the offline payment from a gift giver, mark the gift as "received." The gift will then move down to the paid gifts section.

PayPal gifts MAY sometimes appear in the unpaid section. If this happens, you should check your PayPal account for the payment and then manually update the gift received date.

If no payment was made, just let us know and we'll send a reminder e-mail to notify the guest. It's a tasteful e-mail from Honeyfund with instructions for payment. Contact us with the gift givers name as it appears on your gifts page.

Visit the Payment Settings page to remove your existing PayPal account so you can link a new one.

Note: The PayPal account linked at the time of the gift is where the money is sent for that gift.

Edit your payment settings here. If you have more than one payment option enabled, your guests will be able to choose from those options when they select your gift.

From time to time couples will see a false gift pledge show up in their account. Usually it's someone who wants to find out how Honeyfund works. They'll type in a name in the search and then make a bogus pledge. To cancel the pledge, delete the gift from your Gifts Received page by clicking the "remove" check box and then Remove Items. The item(s) will automatically be added back to your registry.

If a giver requests a refund for their payment to your PayPal or WePay account, Contact us and we will refund the gift and fee payment together.

We are not aware of couples paying taxes on their wedding gifts. However we recommend you talk to a licensed tax professional about your tax concerns. (Since we are not licensed tax professionals, we won't pretend to give you any advice in this arena. :)

Although this does not apply to most of our users, we recommend you check PayPal's site regarding the federal reporting conducted by them.

Giving a Gift

To get back to the certificate page, just click the link in your gift confirmation e-mail (check your spam folder if you didn't receive the e-mail). If you don't have it, you can recover it from the couple's registry. Select any gift, then enter your name and e-mail in the form exactly as you entered it the first time. We will automatically popup a message linking you to your existing gift.

Or, contact us and we can provide the link for you.

To confirm if your payment went through, please check your e-mail for a receipt for payment. Sometimes it comes from the payment processor directly (for example "PayPal").

Another way to confirm is to check for the charge(s) on your credit card.

If you do not see a charge nor have a receipt, you may have chosen to pay offline. If so, the link in your Honeyfund gift confirmation e-mail will provide you with additional instructions. Otherwise, please try your gift again or contact us at 707-340-3863.

If your credit card transaction is not being accepted, try the following:

  1. If you are asked for billing information: Make sure your billing address is exactly as it appears on your credit card bill. You must include the entire street address (i.e., include "Road", "Place"", "Street", etc.)
  2. Make sure the security code you are entering is correct. If you have a Visa, MasterCard or Discover, it's the 3 digits on the back. American Express its the 4 digits on the front.
  3. We also suggest that you try a different credit card.
  4. If paying through PayPal: Be sure to use an e-mail address not associated with any existing PayPal account.

If your payment still doesn't go through, we suggest you try your gift again and select the offline payment option. This way, you can send a check in the mail directly to the couple or bring cash or check to the wedding with your gift certificate.

If these tips do not work, it's likely that the payment processors security algorithms are rejecting the transaction. But don't worry, we can help! Give us a call at 707-340-3863.

If you have NOT paid for your gift, please click the link in your gift confirmation e-mail from Honeyfund. There you can cancel the gift pledge. If you don't have the e-mail, contact us and we can cancel the gift pledge for you.

If you have already given the couple the funds, offline, we cannot cancel the gift payment. You will need to make arrangements directly with the couple to retrieve your funds.

If you paid online, some paid gifts may be refundable. Please contact us to inquire if your gift may be refunded.

Once a Honeyfund Gift Card is redeemed for a partner brand’s gift card, it cannot be canceled. The partner gift card can be used as cash with that partner company per the terms of their gift card program. If you have questions, please Contact Us.

Once you enter your e-mail address to redeem your gift, you will be presented with all the partner brands that offer gift cards in the amount of your gift. Some partners have fixed gift card amounts. If those amounts do not match the amount of your Honeyfund gift card, the brand will not appear.

Honeyfund + Target Registry

When you register for Target honeymoon and experience gifts powered by Honeyfund, you'll automatically get a Honeyfund account.

To manage your gifts and funds, activate your Honeyfund account via the link in your Target account. When wedding guests purchase a Honeyfund + Target gift, they'll pay quickly and easily on Honeyfund using a debit/credit cards and the money is added to your Honeyfund account. 

When you activate your account, you'll choose one of two ways to receive the funds:

  1. The Honeyfund Balance (free), redeemable via a network of digital gift card partners.
  2. or
  3. Bank Account (powered by WePay, 2.8% + $0.30 per gift).  With WePay, the money is sent to your bank via direct deposit.

When you choose the Honeyfund Balance, there are no fees to you or your gift givers.  This is because you will redeem your Honeyfund balance with one of our digital gift card partners.  If you choose the Bank Account option, WePay will charge a small fee of 2.8%+.30 per transaction.

To remove Honeyfund + Target items from your Target Registry, choose the "enable" slider in your Target Registry account. This will hide the experience items on your Target registry, so no one else can purchase them. Any items already purchased will still be available in your Honeyfund account, where you can withdraw or redeem them prior to closing your Honeyfund account. To close your Honeyfund account, please contact us.


Honeyfund + Target registry gift funds can be redeemed or withdrawn in your Honeyfund Account gifts page.

Depending on which option you chose at account activation, you will either,

  1. choose from a list of digital gift card partners (Honeyfund Balance)
  2. or
  3. click Withdraw to login to WePay and access your cash. With WePay, the money is sent to your bank via direct deposit.

Yes, a Honeyfund account is how you get your gift funds for Target honeymoon and experience gifts. The account is created for you automatically when you add honeymoon and experience items to your Target Registry. Be sure to activate your Honeyfund account using the link in your Target Registry, or via the e-mail from Honeyfund.

Optionally, you can publish a Honeyfund page and link that back to your Target Registry! Your Honeyfund page can be fully customized to add details about your wedding, travel plans and additional registry items for your guests to choose from.

Honeyfund +Target gifts are typically not refundable, we suggest you redeem your funds through our digital gift card partners  or withdraw the funds via WePay depending on which option you chose at account activation. Please contact us if you have any questions about redeeming your gifts.

Most digital gift cards  are not reversible. Please review the gift card terms and conditions prior to redemption. Please contact us to inquire about reversal of a digital gift card redemption.
